LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 6, 2005) -- The University of Kentucky Department of Psychiatry offers Mindfulness Meditation groups that include exercises intended to improve concentration, decrease reactivity, and increase awareness and insight into the automatic pilot in our minds.
One-hour sessions begin Tuesday, Jan. 11, and are ongoing, weekly at 5:30 p.m. for Group I (new or “out-of-practice” meditators) and 6:30 p.m. for Group II (“practiced” meditators). Group I members can move into Group II at their own pace. Sessions are held at 3470 Blazer Parkway, room 314, and cost $10 per night.
