LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 19, 2005) -- WUKY (FM 91.3), the University of Kentucky’s public radio station, hosts its 13th annual “ Heard it Through the Grapevine” wine/cuisine-taste and concert Friday, Jan. 28, at Lexington Center.
The taste starts at 7 p.m., followed by a concert by Marcia Ball and her Band at 9 p.m. Alligator Records’ Ball is no stranger to central Kentucky. She has appeared at two previous WUKY (FM 91.3) events and has made numerous cabaret appearances. Even so, the appeal of her hard-rocking, boogie-woogie brand of blues never seems to wane. She takes the stage in Lexington Center’s Heritage Hall in a re-creation of the city’s now-shuttered Zebra Lounge.
Tickets for ‘Grapevine” are on sale at both Lexington-area Slone’s Signature Markets (Lansdowne Shoppes or Southland Drive), and at Magee’s Bakery ( East Main Street). They may also be ordered online, or by calling 257-3221 during business hours.
