LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 16, 2005) -- During the recent 2005 Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in Dallas, Texas, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) awarded the Nursing Informatics Leadership Award to Victoria Bradley, director of patient information and project director for enterprise-wide integrated clinical information system implementation at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
“These awards represent the diverse and distinct talents of our HIMSS members who have contributed to the growth of HIMSS and the industry,” said H. Stephen Lieber, HIMSS president/CEO. “We are proud to recognize these individuals, groups and organizations that embody the basic mission of HIMSS.”
Established in 2004, the Nursing Informatics Leadership Award is presented to one individual who, in the judgment of the HIMSS Board of Directors, has demonstrated significant leadership in the area of Nursing Informatics within the society and/or the industry.
Jim Cato, chief nursing officer, Eclipsys, nominated Bradley for the award.
“Her numerous contributions extend beyond nursing informatics to the whole health care enterprise – and serve as a shining example of how to enact change to improve patient care.”
