LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 30, 2005) -- The University of Kentucky Department of Communication will dominate the presentations at the upcoming Southern States Communication Association Undergraduate Honors Conference.

The conference is being held in March 31 through April 3 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Conference organizers asked UK to give 25 of the total 94 honors conference papers to be presented. One of the papers from the university placed in the top four for the conference.

“Students from our program have been submitting their papers to this competitive honors conference for the past several years. We have always had a strong presence, but this year our success is amazing,” said Nancy Harrington, chair of the Department of Communication. “Our students are to be commended for their outstanding scholarship and dedication to communication research."

The papers were drawn from introductory research projects assigned students in classes in COM 351:Introduction to Communication Theory and COM 365: Introduction to Communication Research Methods.
