The Linda and Jack Gill Heart Institute at
the University of Kentucky will host a research day for Kentucky researchers studying
cardiovascular disease and physiology from noon to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29, followed by a
reception and dinner.

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 28, 1999) The Linda
and Jack Gill Heart Institute at the University of Kentucky will host a research day for
Kentucky researchers studying cardiovascular disease and physiology from noon to 5:30 p.m.
Oct. 29, followed by a reception and dinner. The research day will include poster
sessions, a presentation by the recipient of the Linda and Jack Gill Heart Institute Award
for Outstanding Contributions to Cardiovascular Research and an awards dinner.
This years award winner is Eric Olson, Ph.D., professor and chair, Department of
Molecular Biology, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. One aspect of
Olsons research concentrates on studying the mechanisms that control formation of
the heart and vasculature during embryo development with the eventual goal of
understanding the complex pathways leading to heart formation. |
