LEXINGTON, KY (March 22, 1999) -- The University
of Kentucky College of Pharmacy is ranked third among all U.S. pharmacy schools offering
graduate degrees in the "Americas Best Graduate Schools" issue of U.S.
News & World Report. UK's master's of nursing program also was listed, ranked
48th in the nation.
The listing is in the magazine currently available on newsstands and also on the
magazine's Web site at www.usnews.com. The rankings are part of the magazines annual
listing of graduate programs in the United States.
The rankings are based on a variety of data collected from the universities. U.S.
News determined the ranking by sending surveys to deans, faculty and administrators of
accredited graduate programs.
William Lubawy, Ph.D., interim dean of the UK College of Pharmacy, said the ranking
reflects high quality faculty and students.
"We are doing very innovative things in the areas of curriculum, research, and
service," Lubawy said. "I think people are beginning to recognize that."
Nursing Dean Carolyn Williams agreed that strong faculty and students contribute to the
rankings. |
