LEXINGTON, KY (July
24, 2001)-- Art Nitz, Ph.D., professor in the University of Kentucky
College of Allied Health Professions Division of Physical Therapy,
was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award from the U.S. Army Baylor
University Academy of Health Sciences in June.
Nitz graduated with a master’s degree from the program in
1976.
“I’m honored and I feel humbled because there are many
other outstanding graduates of this program who have accomplished
a great deal in their fields,” Nitz said.
Nitz,
who has been on faculty at UK since 1984, was chosen among all
other health professionals including physicians, dentists and
pharmacists for this award. He
received his doctorate in anatomy and neurobiology from UK in
1984.
Nitz,
who conducts research in orthopedic injury and nerve pathology,
has published approximately 90 manuscripts, abstracts or book
chapters.
