Alumni Association gives to hurricane fund

The The UK Alumni Association raised over $30,000 to be donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief fund.

The Association, along with Spindletop Hall and the Bluegrass Culinary Association, hosted a fund-raising dinner and silent auction to collect the money. More than 150 people enjoyed live music, special Cajun and Creole dinners and bid on auction items. Table Sponsors for the evening were: Gold Sponsor ($5,000), Pearson & Justice, DMD, and Silver Sponsors ($1,000), Celebrity Kids Portrait Studios, Kentucky Restaurant Association-Bluegrass Chapter, Sullivan University, and U.S. FoodService.

Additionally, the Association donated proceeds from the Big Blue Tailgate Tent party hosted before the UK-U of L football game.
Funds were also raised from the Alumni Association’s online auction and individual clubs’ game watch parties.
