Conference will feature top authority on leadership
The University of Kentucky College of Agriculture’s Center for Leadership Development is partnering with the UK Cooperative Extension Service and other organizations to bring one of the nation’s foremost experts on leadership and teamwork to Lexington on Dec. 2.
John Maxwell, author of the book, “The 17 Laws of Teamwork,” is the featured presenter in a conference at Lexington Center titled, “Unbridling the Spirit of Leadership in Kentucky Communities.” Themes which Maxwell will highlight include bringing a team closer, increasing momentum, and working together smarter than ever before.
The afternoon session features a panel discussion with three Kentucky leaders in government, business and education. The scheduled panelists are: Stu Silberman, superintendent of Fayette County Public Schools; Sylvia Lovely, executive director of the Kentucky League of Cities; and Lyle Hanna of Palmer & Cay and founder of Best Places to Work in Kentucky.
A special rate of $99 per person is being offered to UK employees and their clients. The Kentucky Department of Education, League of Cities, and the Kentucky Association of Counties have approved continuing education credit for their participants.
“We are very excited about teaming up with other key organizations from throughout the Commonwealth to provide this tremendous opportunity for leadership growth,” said UK President Lee T. Todd Jr. He added, “I hope many of our students, faculty, staff and alumni will take advantage of this great leadership experience.”
