Staff Senate elects new officers
The University of Kentucky Staff Senate, which serves as a liaison to the university administration regarding staff issues, recently elected new officers.

David Ellis, who has worked five years as assistant ticket manager in the UK Athletics Department ticket office, was elected chair. Ellis told the staff senators he wants to help “publicize the Staff Senate and let UK staff members know that the senate is working for them.”
A strong advocate of volunteerism among staff members, Ellis is a native of Nashville, Tenn. He replaces Sheila Brothers of the Metabolic Research Group in the Department of Internal Medicine, UK College of Medicine.
Other new UK Staff Senate officers are Kathy Sheppard-Jones, program administrator in UK’s Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute, vice chair; Aimee Nielson, communications specialist in the College of Agriculture, secretary; Kim Judd, accounting coordinator in General Accounting, treasurer; and Pat VanMeter, senior research analyst in the Department of Veterinary Science, Gluck Equine Research Center, parliamentarian.
