IHDI focuses on disability issues at seminars
The Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute (IHDI) at the University of Kentucky will host a series of three lunchtime seminars focusing on issues related to individuals with disabilities and their families.
The seminars are as follows:
-- Wednesday, March 23, noon to 1 p.m., Donna Wickham, associate director of IHDI's Inclusive Large Scale Standards and Assessments project, will present an overview of positive behavior supports and how it is used with children with disabilities.
-- Thursday, March 31, noon to 1 p.m. , Carolyn Wheeler, project director of IHDI's Hope for Tomorrow program, will present an overview of the importance of preparing legally and financially for the future, particularly as it relates to parents of children with disabilities. The seminar will focus especially on options for aging caregivers.
All seminars are free and open to the community and will be held at the Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute in 126 Mineral Industries Building on the UK campus. No registration is required for these events.
