Disability-related seminar series planned this fall

The Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute (IHDI) at the University of Kentucky will conduct a seminar lecture series on select Fridays from September to November that will focus on lifespan issues for individuals with disabilities and their families.

“We will be looking at different transition times that individuals with disabilities and their families face,” said Stephanie Adams, seminar coordinator. “These seminars are a wonderful related-learning experience for anyone interesting in the human sciences.”

“As always, we are very excited about the speakers slated for this fall seminar series.” Harold Kleinert, director of IHDI, said. “Each semester we are able to provide students, faculty, and staff of the university and the Chandler Medical Center, in addition to members of the community, access to cutting edge information about issues related to persons with disabilities.”

All seminars are free and open to the public and will be held at the Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute, located at the UK campus in Lexington. No registration is required for these events.

The Interdisciplinary Human Development Institute at UK works to improve life opportunities for persons with disabilities and their families through interdisciplinary training, research, technical assistance, community education and information dissemination.
