December 7, 20072008 Spring Semester Permits OnlineFor the first time, University of Kentucky Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) will offer student spring semester-only permits for sale on their Web site, www.uky.edu/Parking. Sales begin Friday, December 14.Both UK and BCTC students are eligible to apply for 2008 spring semester K and evening permits online. Upon completing the application, students will see a Web page with a printable temporary permit. This should be placed on their dashboard and used until the regular permit arrives in the mail. The K lots at Commonwealth Stadium will not be controlled for permits for the semester break, Saturday, December 15 through Monday, January 14. This will allow new students time to purchase permits once they arrive on campus. The lots will be controlled for permits beginning Tuesday, January 15, 2008. The cut-off date for online application is Thursday, January 31, 2008. Eligible students who do not have a parking permit or who want to upgrade a K permit may submit a lottery request online for C and R permits at www.uky.edu/Parking/services-student-permit-lottery.html. Eligibility criteria must be met to purchase the desired permit. Drawings are typically held two to three weeks after the beginning of the semester and notification is sent through the mail. New students are encouraged to visit the New Student Parking Information page for maps, frequently asked questions, and more. On-going Construction on Veterans DrivePhase two of work on the communications duct bank on the east side of Veterans Drive began earlier this week. The work is expected to last two weeks.Twelve disabled spaces along Veterans Drive will be blocked off due to construction. Additional disability parking will be available in the Blue Lot behind the Medical Center Route bus shelter. |
