Boone Center Lot Reverting to Visitor Parking
Effective March 1, the employee parking lot located behind the Hilary J. Boone Center will revert to use by the Hilary J. Boone Center, which is scheduled to reopen in early to mid-March. Parking will be reserved for Boone Center customers only.
Following the 2005 closure of the Center, the Boone Center parking lot was temporarily used as employee parking. With the building’s reopening, events at the facility will create a need for dedicated Hilary J. Boone Center patron parking.
The existing disabled parking spaces adjacent to the Boone Center parking lot will remain in their current location. The 14 metered spaces will be removed from inside the lot. However, two 45-minute and six 3-hour metered spaces at the entrance to the lot will remain.
Visitors to the Hilary J. Boone Center will have their parking validated by Hilary J. Boone Center staff. Overnight parking will be prohibited. Employees who currently park in the Hilary J. Boone Center parking lot may park in any other E lot.
Pedestrian Safety Reminder
The UK Police Department would like to remind all drivers to exercise caution when approaching pedestrian or bicycle crosswalks. This is especially important for areas with heavy pedestrian traffic, such as the entrance and exit to Parking Structure #2 (located on Hilltop Avenue).
