LexTran Offers Free Rides on Thursday

On Thursday, June 19, LexTran will join public transportation systems nationwide in the third annual Dump the Pump Day. Sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), the 2008 National Dump the Pump Day encourages people to ride public transportation to help improve the environment and to conserve gasoline.

As incentive to encourage ridership, all LexTran and American Red Cross WHEELS passengers will ride free all day. “Public transportation plays a vital role in improving our environment and off-setting the high cost of gasoline,” said LexTran General Manager Rocky Burke. “On June 19, people can make a difference by riding public transportation and encouraging their friends and family to do so, too.”
