Vehicles on Snow Emergency Routes Must Be Moved

A snow emergency was declared Monday for the city of Lexington and will remain in effect until it is lifted by Mayor Jim Newberry, according to a news release issued by the mayor’s office. The Snow Emergency requires motorists to move vehicles parked on designated snow emergency routes. Go to http://www.lexingtonky.gov/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=5585 to view a map of the affected campus area. Motorists should pay particular attention to roadways marked in red on the maps. All affected roadways are also marked with “Snow Emergency Route” street signs.

While Snow Emergency Routes are controlled by Lexington Fayette Urban County Government, the Mayor’s Office has asked that the University share this critical information with the campus community to maximize exposure and minimize the individual impact. The Lexington Division of Police is actively enforcing towing on all designated Snow Emergency Routes today. Campus personnel are strongly encouraged to move any impacted vehicle immediately.
Motorists whose vehicles have been towed from city Snow Routes should contact the Lexington Police Reports Desk at (859) 258-3563.
