Motorist Assistance

Have you ever locked your keys inside your car, run out of gas or had a dead battery? And, to make things worse, you had no idea who to call for help?

Parking and Transportation Services has developed a motorist assistance program for UK and BCTC students, as well as employees of UK, BCTC and VA employees, who have valid parking permits. Bluegrass Towing agrees to respond to calls to assist stalled motorists 24 hours a day, anywhere in Fayette County. Bluegrass Towing will also give you a 10% discount on their normal charges.

Bluegrass Towing will jump start vehicles, unlock car doors or change flats. If requested, they will tow your vehicle to any repair shop in Fayette County. To be eligible for the UK discount, the tow truck driver will need to record your permit number prior to providing the service. For your convenience, tow truck drivers will accept cash, check or credit card at the scene.

Some motorist assistance services are provided free of charge by Parking Services and the University Police. If you are parked on campus and you need to jump start your vehicle, we will attempt to assist with a Portable Jump Start System. If you are out of gas, we will lend you a gas can and, if needed, give you a ride to a local gas station so you can purchase fuel.
