Requesting Changes to the May 2009-April 2010
APPE Rotation Year Schedule

General Information

1.  The Professional Year (PY) 3 class is assigned Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) rotations based on indicated preceptor availability and student preference.  Changes may occur throughout the rotation year, primarily due to changes in preceptor availability, an evolving student interest in a particular type or area of pharmacy practice, or student interest in residency training.  Some changes may also occur based on health or other issues for students.

2.  In order to provide a balance between commitments to preceptors and their ability to consistently plan and develop programs for students and  evolving student interests during the PY4 portion of the experiential education program, the following guidance is provided to students for your use and compliance.

Registration Procedures When Switching/Changing Rotations

All students on APPE rotations must be registered for each clinical rotation section in which they will be participating.

If you do not complete a rotation during a month for which you were previously registered, you must drop the section corresponding to that month.

If you add a rotation during a month in which you were not registered, you must add that corresponding section.

Questions on this subject should be addressed to Hope Bertram, 859-257-5303;
email:  tlbert2@email.uky.edu.
