Dosage Forms (Wyeth-Ayerst)

Liquid: Guaifenesin 100mg, Dextromethorphan 10mg, per 5ml

Adult Dosing Guidelines

  • NA

Pediatric Dosing Guidelines

  • under 12 yrs: 0.15ml per kg q6h
  • Adults and children 12 years of age and older, 2 teaspoons every 4 hours

  • Do not exceed 6 doses in a 24 hour period

General Information

This product is intended as a non-narcotic cough suppressant and expectorant for special need patients. (ie Diabetics, dye allergy etc.) Temporarily relieves coughs due to minor throat and bronchial irritation. It also acts as an expectorant by loosening mucus and thin bronchial secretions to rid the airway of mucus.

  • Do not use this product for a persistent or chronic cough associated with asthma, smoking, chronic bronchitis, emphysema etc.
  • This product is free of sugar, sodium, alcohol, fructose, sorbitol, and dyes.

Adverse Reactions/Side Effects
Do not take if currently taking MAOI.
Nausea, Vomiting. Overdose may cause ataxia, respiratory depression and convulsions.
