• 0.3ml per kg q6-8h prn

• Type of symptoms (cough – productive or not, etc)?
• Fever, rash, or headache?
• Pre-existing conditions? (esp. heart disease, HTN, thyroid disorder, diabetes)
• Current use of medications?
• age and weight?

Temporary relief of nasal congestion and cough due to common cold.

MOA: pseudoephedrine is a vasoconstricter

dextromethorphan suppresses the medullary cough center

• do not use with heart disease, HTN, diabetes or thyroid disorder
• if symptoms do not cease within one week or worsen… call physician ASAP
• do not use with chronic cough assoc. with asthma
• do not take with MAOI

Adverse Reactions/Side Effects
nervousness, dizziness, sleeplessness.

hyperactivity has been know to occur in children under 6. should this happen consult MD

overdose may cause ataxia, respiratory depression, convulsions.
