Adult Dosing Guidelines
- For treatment of lice infestation, wash hair with mild shampoo and dry. Apply Rid to hair until it is thoroughly wet and wait at least 10 minutes, preferably 15-20 minutes. Add sufficient amount of warm water to the hair to make a lather and then rinse. Use a nit comb to remove dead lice and nits. Retreat after 7-10 days since no product is ovicidal.
Pediatric Dosing Guidelines
Topical absorption is poor, so there is no specific age cut off but the general guideline of 2 years of age applies. Due to the large surface area of the head of a child or infant, a physician should be consulted.

This product is effective in treating pubic lice.
General Information
Synergized pyrethrins disrupt nervous transmission in the insect. Thus this product serves as an insecticide. Keep product away from the eyes and mucous membranes. May be helpful to use goggles or some other form of protective eyewear to avoid eye contact. Do not use if patient is allergic to chrysanthemums. Be sure to check and treat other family members. Wash bedclothes and vacuum regularly to prevent spreading of the lice infestation.
