Adult Dosing Guidelines
- Take 1.5 to 4 teaspoonfuls as needed.
Pediatric Dosing Guidelines
- Weight (lbs.) Age Dose .
- 24-47 2-5 1 tablet or 1tsp.
- 48-95 6-11 2 tablets or 2 tsp.
- Dosage should not exceed three times a day, and the dose should only be repeated if
needed.

- What symptoms is the child experiencing and for how long?
- What is the weight and age of the child?
- Is the child currently taking any prescription or other OTC medications?
- Does the child have any medical conditions such as diabetes or kidney disease?
General Information
- MOA: Antacids neutralize the gastric acidity, causing an increase in the pH of the
- stomach and duodenal bulb.
- Prohibited use for children under the age of 2.
- Do not use the maximum dosage of the product for more than two weeks, except under
- the advice/supervision of a physician. (The maximum dose probably shouldn't be used
- for more than a few days due to the risk of milk-alkali syndrome.)
- Tablets should be chewed thoroughly to obtain the optimal effect and follow with a glass
- of water.
- The liquid dosage form is preferred due to its rapid action and greater activity.
- This product contains sugar, so be careful with diabetic patients.
- Consult a pharmacist before taking if you are currently on any prescription medication.
- Overuse can result in the formation of carbonate kidney stones.
- Adverse Reactions/Side Effects
This product can interfere with the absorption of fluoroquinolones, salicylates and tetracyclines.
- This product can increase the pharmacological effects of quinidine.
- May cause acid rebound
- Can lead to milk-alkali syndrome.
- Can suppress phosphate concentrations.
Natural Products or Nutritional Interactions (if applicable)
Do not consume with large quantities of milk or high calcium containing foods.
