For fast relief of HEARTBURN, ACID INDIGESTION, SOUR STOMACH with HEADACHE, or BODY ACHES, and PAINS. Also for fast relief of UPSET STOMACH with HEADACHE from overindulgence in food and drink - especially recommended for taking before bed and again on arising. DIRECTIONS: Dissolve Original Alka-Seltzer in 4 oz. of water before taking. ADULTS: 2 tablets every 4 hours not to exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours. (60 years or older, 4 tablets in a 24-hour period). CAUTION: If symptoms persist or recur frequently, or if you are under treatment for ulcer, consult your doctor.

WARNINGS: Children and teenagers should not use this medication for chicken pox or flu symptoms before a doctor is consulted about Reye syndrome, a rare but serious illness reported to be associated with aspirin. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using this product. IT IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT NOT TO USE ASPIRIN DURING THE LAST 3 MONTHS OF PREGNANCY UNLESS SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED TO DO SO BY A DOCTOR BECAUSE IT MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS IN THE UNBORN CHILD OR COMPLICATIONS DURING DELIVERY. Except under the advice and supervision of a doctor: Do not take more than, ADULTS: 8 tablets in a 24-hour period (60 years of age or older: 4 tablets in a 24-hour period) or use the daily maximum dosage for more than 10 days. Do not take this product if you are allergic to aspirin or if you have asthma, bleeding problems or on a sodium restricted diet. Each tablet contains 567 mg of sodium. If ringing in the ears or a loss of hearing occurs, consult a doctor before taking any more of this product. Do not take this product for pain for more than 10 days unless directed by a doctor. If pain persists or gets worse, if new symptoms occur, or if redness of swelling is present, consult a doctor because these could be signs of a serious condition. KEEP this and all drugs out of the reach of children.

DRUG INTERACTION PRECAUTION: Do not take this product if you are taking a prescription drug for anticoagulation (thinning the blood), diabetes, gout, or arthritis unless directed by a doctor. Antacids may interact with certain prescription drugs. If you are presently taking a prescription drug, do not take this product without checking with your doctor or other health professional.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Each tablet contains: Aspirin 325 mg, heat treated sodium bicarbonate 1916 mg, citric acid 1000 mg. Alka-Seltzer in water contains principally the antacid sodium citrate and the analgesic sodium acetylsalicylate. INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: None.
