Caplets, Chewable Tablets: 100mg
Suspension: 100mg/5ml


Adult Dosing Guidelines

  • Refer to adult monograph.

Pediatric Dosing Guidelines

  • As an accepted guideline give your child 10mg/kg/dose. This will allow you to tailor the dose to your child’s weight more accurately than the manufacturer’s recommended guidelines. Although, if no pharmacist is available (such as late at night, etc.) the chart can serve as a useful reference.
  • If needed, repeat dose every 6-8 hours not to exceed 4 times per day.

Triage Questions About Treatment or Related Issues

  • What are the patient’s symptoms? How have they been occurring?
  • Has the patient tried any other medications?
  • Is the patient taking any other OTC/Rx medications?
  • Is the patient allergic to any of the active/inactive ingredients in this product?
  • What is the weight of the patient to determine the dose?

General Information

Temporarily reduces fever and relieves minor aches and pains due to common cold, flu, sore throat, headaches, and toothaches. Do not take with other drugs containing ibuprofen.
Do not take for more than 3 days for fever or pain. Do not use if child is dehydrated due to continued vomiting, diarrhea, or lack of fluid intake.


Adverse Reactions/Side Effects
Mild GI upset, heartburn.

Allergic reactions: hives, asthma, facial swelling, shock.
