General Information

MOA: Ketoprofen inhibits the formation of mediators of fever, edema, and pain. It is known to inhibit both prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis, to have antibradykinin activity, and to stabilize lysosomal membranes.

Use: Orudis KT may be used to provide temporary relief of aches and pains associated with the common cold, toothache, headache, backache, menstrual cramps, reduction of fever, and minor pain of arthritis. Take with a full glass of water, and do not lie down for 15-30 minutes after administration to prevent esophageal irritation. Take with food or milk to lessen stomach upset. Do not crush or chew the tablet; swallow whole.

Children/Pregnancy/Lactation: Safety and effectiveness guidelines have not been established in children, and Orudis KT should not be used by anyone under age 16.

Orudis KT is pregnancy category B. It should not be taken in the third trimester of pregnancy because a similar drug is known to affect the baby’s heart. Do not take if lactating. Do not take in early pregnancy without first consulting physician.
