Triage Questions About Treatment or Related Issues Is the area inflamed? How long have you had the condition? How old is the patient?
General Information Aveeno Bath acts as a temporary skin protectant. It relieves minor irritation and itching. It also acts as a natural cleanser and cleans skin without soap. Surface solids on skin adhere to the oatmeal particles and are rinsed away. This product can be used to treat itchy, irritated skin due to poison ivy, oak, and sumac, sunburn, chicken pox, rash, and diaper rash. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If this occurs, flush with water. Pat skin dry, do not rub. Be very careful when entering and exiting the tub since oatmeal will make bottom of the tub slippery. Not harmful if accidentally ingested. If patient is less than 2 years old, recommend that the patient consult a physician before using the bath. If condition worsens or does not improve in 7 days, contact physician.
