Research

Research interests
Dr. Liter’s has a broad range of research interests. He is interested in conducting outcomes research in the areas of pain management, oncology, HIV disease and anti-emetic therapy. He has conducted research in the neutralization of cancer chemotherapeutic agents in an attempt to destroy the mutagenic activity of cancer chemotherapeutic agents.

Research projects
The Nature of Leukocytic Response to Mouse Mammary Tumor Implants in C3H/HEJ Mice With and Without Anticoagulation. Started August 1983; completed December 1984. 

Investigation of Intravenous Infusion Monitoring System: Site Guard. Started June 1991; completed July 1991. 

Investigation of Intravenous Infusion Monitoring System: Gemini. Started October 1991; completed November 1991. 

Morphine Continuous Infusion vs. Continuous Infusion plus Patient-Controlled Analgesia in Severe Cancer Pain. Started November 1991; completed November 1994. 

Investigation of Intravenous Infusion Monitoring Device System: Sitecheck. Started June 1992; completed August 1992. 

Process Development for the Elimination of Carcinogenic and Mutagenic Properties from Antineoplastic Agents and the Development of a Device to Automatically Deactivate Contaminated Antineoplastic Waste. Started January 1995.  Patent Search Completed April 9, 1996 - Patents approved then placed on hold.
