Anderson-Harper is Named Assistant Dean for Education Innovation
LEXINGTON, KY (Feb.
1, 2002) -- Heidi Anderson-Harper,
Ph.D., has been appointed Assistant Dean for Education Innovation, at
She also served as chair of the School of Pharmacy curriculum committee from 1994-1998. Dr. Anderson-Harper has held teaching, research and administrative positions at Auburn University, the University of Tennessee and Purdue University. Her responsibilities at UK include implementation of innovative learning strategies, leadership in faculty development and program assessment.
Dr. Anderson-Harper received her Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy, a Master of Science degree in education and Ph.D. in pharmacy administration all from Purdue University. Her pharmacy practice experience includes work in independent and chain community practices.
As chair of the curriculum committee at Auburn University, she used her background in education to help develop a new ability-based curriculum for the Pharm.D. degree at Auburn University School of Pharmacy.
Dr. Anderson-Harper is a member and serves on various committees of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, American Association of Higher Education and the American Pharmaceutical Association.
She also served as executive director of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association from 1979-1989.
Her other honors include Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society, Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, twice named Outstanding Young Woman of America, recipient of the Albert B. Prescott/Glaxo Leadership Award, honorable mention in the Microsoft Innovators in Higher Education award and Auburn University Provost’s Enhancement and Faculty Recognition for Innovative Teaching.
Her research involves applying the social, behavioral and administrative sciences to problems in pharmacy practice and education.
