The annual University of
Kentucky College of Pharmacy Honors and Recognition Program
was held April 18 in the Health Science Learning Center.
The following students were recognized:
ASHP
Clinical Skills Competition – William Scott Clark, PY4 and
David DeRemer, PY4.
National Patient Counseling Competition – Jeff Mills,
PY4.
APhA-ASP Senior Recognition Certificate – Janet
Moriarty, PY4.
Jennifer Marie Blanchard, PY3, received the Roche
Pharmacy Communication Award.
William Scott Clark, PY4, received The Dean Earl P.
Slone Award, the only award in which the entire College of
Pharmacy student body nominates and votes for the
recipient.
Angela Drake, PY2, received The Bootstrap Award given
to a second professional year student who has demonstrated the
greatest overall academic improvement between the first and
third semesters in the College.
Sandra Foster, PY3, and Missy Looney, PY3,
received the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database
Recognition Award.
Matt
Harney, PY3, received the Albert Turk Award, the Joseph V.
Swintosky Excellence in Pharmaceutics Award for outstanding
academic achievement by a student in courses taught by the
faculty in pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical analysis, and the
Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Award given to a student selected
by Phi Lambda Sigma members.
Kristina Hinkle, PY3, received the Lesshafft
Pharmaceutical Care Laboratory Award.

Hobbs, PY2, received the Kappa Psi Graduate Chapter
Award.
Wesley Howard, PY1, received the Paracelsus Award for
overall academic achievement by a first professional year
student.
Stacey Martinez, PY2, received The Professor H. O.
Haeusgen Award.

Moore, PY3, received the ASHP Student Leadership
Award.
David
Perry, PY1, received The Lewis Diehl - Perrigo Award,
presented in honor of Lewis Diehl, founder and first president
of the Louisville College of Pharmacy.
Sara
Poston, PY2, received the Excellence In Pharmacology Award for
outstanding academic excellence and continuing interest in the
areas of physiology and pharmacology by a second professional
year student.
Shannon Rizzo, PY2 , received the Allison Ratcliff
Scholarship Award.
Shannon Rumble, PY3, received the United States Public
Health Service Excellence Public Health Pharmacy Practice
Award and the Rho Chi Service Award.

Smith, PY1, received the Bluegrass Award.
Allison Wagner Williams, PY2, received the Scholas
Award given for outstanding overall academic achievement based
on the total first professional year’s grades and activities
as determined by a Rho Chi
Committee.
