Kuhn Selected to Present Annual Guttman Lecture
LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 19, 2002) -- John G. Kuhn, Pharm.D., professor in the Division of Pharmacotherapy at the College of Pharmacy and Departments of Medicine and Pharmacology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, was presented the 2002 Guttman Memorial Lecture. Kuhn presented Developing New Pharmacologic Therapies for Patients With Primary Brain Tumors" during convocation on Oct. 17, and "Influence of Anticonvulsants on the Pharmacology Irinotecan (CPT-11)" on Oct. 18. Dr. Kuhn’s research focuses on the pharmacology of anticancer/biological agents and drug development. He currently serves as the core director of the NCI-designated San Antonio Cancer Institute and North American Brain Tumor Consortium. The Guttman Memorial Lecture honors David E. Guttman (1929-1974), who was professor in the Division of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Analysis of the College of Pharmacy, when he died of cancer June 30, 1974. Kristi Lopez, (859) 323-4730 |
