Pharmacy Student Receives National Leadership Award

The American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA) has selected Debra J. Flores, a third-year student in the UK College of Pharmacy, as a recipient of the APhA Student Leadership Award for 2002.

   

KSEF Funds Bioscience Project

University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy faculty members Michael Jay, Ph.D., and Paul Bummer, Ph.D., and Czarena Crofcheck, assistant professor of biosy-stems and agricultural engineering, were honored by Gov. Paul Patton as recipients of a 2002 Kentucky Science and Engineering Foundation Award Feb. 27. 

   
 
   
   
   

 

Parker Award 2001
Joseph T. DiPirio, Ph.D., of the University of Georgia will be presented the college's annual award during ASHP meeting.

AAPS Fellow
Robert Blouin, Pharm.D., has been named a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He will be formally recognized at a ceremony during the AAPS annual meeting Oct. 21-25, 2001, in Denver. Dr. Blouin is associate dean of Research and Graduate Studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences and executive director of the Office of Economic Development and Innovations Management.

Honored by Allied Health
Frank Romanelli, Pharm.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Science, received an Honorary Professor of the Year Award for excellence in teaching from the UK College of Allied Health during their physician's assistant certificate ceremony June 29, 2001.

Joseph Fink III was named vice president of corporate relations and economic outreach for the University of Kentucky in July 2001. The appoint-ment was part of an administrative reorgani-zation by UK President Lee T. Todd Jr.

In February 2001, Fink was named a UK Great Teacher.

 

Sullivan Award
Patrick DeLuca, Ph.D., is the recipient of the University of Kentucky's 2001 Sullivan Award for his humanitarian efforts.
