What are equivalent doses?
DCAB - 1 mg/kg equivalent to around 2.5 - 5.0 mg/kg ABLC.
- At these doses, it appears from clinical trials, that ABLC is less toxic and at least as effective as DCAB. (mostly from non-comparative trials)
- Present indictions - differ from product to product generally - treatment of invasive fungal infections where the patient is intolerate to, or does not respond to DCAB.
