- Occurs and is recognized by progressive disease and persistent CMV recovery despite therapy.
- Pharmacokinetics
- Oral bioavailibility - < 10% - usually have to give doses of 1000 mg every 6 hours.
- Low plasma protein binding.
- T 1/2 - 2-4 hours.
- High Vd - good tissue distribution
- Elimination unmetabolized by kidney (> 90%)
