Investigations
The Criminal Investigations unit is charged with the responsibility of conducting in-depth investigations into criminal activity that occurs on the University of Kentucky campus. Our investigators are trained in a variety of areas including sex crimes, computer crimes, financial crimes, robbery, burglary, death investigations and crime scene investigations. In addition to training we have many of the latest tools available to investigate crime scenes including: forensic lights, photo and video equipment and an assortment of finger print processing techniques. Our investigators regularly attend meetings with members of other Law Enforcement agencies to improve communications and to discuss current trends in crime that affect our community. The Criminal Investigations Unit also assists with the hiring of new police personnel by conducting background investigations on candidates for police officers and civilian personnel within our department.
