Administrative Services

The Administrative Services Division oversees Fiscal Affairs, Staff Support, Communications and Records, Property and Evidence, Network Services and the Hospital/Medical Center Security Section.

Fiscal Affairs and Staff Support handle purchasing, payroll, recharge services, and additional fiscal affairs for the police department. Personnel matters are also handled through this office.

The Communications Section is the heart of the Department. The dispatcher has the responsibility of receiving calls for service and sending out the appropriate Officers to handle the call. The dispatchers also take information from the Police Officers in the field regarding emergency situations, traffic stops, checking for warrants on suspicious individuals, etc.

The Records section is responsible for the receipt and maintenance of physical records of Police operations to include Incident/Offense Reports and Accident Reports. Central Records is also responsible for issuing copies of reports to individuals as well as other agencies.

The Property section is responsible for all property which is impounded by the UK Police Department. This includes all found, personal, and physical evidence. Anyone wishing to inquire about whether their property has been turned into UK Police can call (859)257-5770 X 225 Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Information Services Section has the responsibility of maintaining the computer network, workstations, software, and etc. Any function relating to computers whether is setting up a new network server or setting up mobile data terminals in the Police cars is the responsibility of the IS section. Responsibility for the website for the Police also rests with the IS Tech.
