Background Checks

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS      

Unfortunately, local criminal background checks can no longer be performed by UK Police personnel due to the lack of dispositions in the computerized court database we used to use.  Therefore without a complete record (including disposition), we cannot process these requests.

However, you may go to Fayette County District Court, 150 N Limestone St, Lexington, to have a local criminal history checked.  There is a fee for this service.  For further information, contact them by calling 859-246-2228.

For Statewide background checks, these are conducted only by the Administrative Office of the Courts.  There is a fee for this service.  For further information, contact them by calling 1-800-928-6381.

Statewide driving records checks are conducted by the Kentucky Department of Transportation-Motor Vehicle Licensing Division.  There is a fee for this service.  For further information, contact them by calling 859-246-2151.
