ASSAULTS/ATTEMPTED ASSAULTS/BURGLARY

October 11, 2010

UK Police have been advised that the Lexington Division of Police are investigating the following crimes that have occurred near UK’s campus.

  • Sunday, September 19th, Aylesford Place, attempted sexual assault of two female UK students.  Suspect is described as a white male in his late twenties with a short beard, wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap turned backwards, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky build
  • Saturday, October 9th at 354 Foreman Ave at 2:30 am a female was assaulted upon entering her apartment by an unknown subject.  She received severe injuries, including a skull fracture. The suspect is described as a white male, blue UK hat, blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and was carrying a drawstring backpack.
  • Saturday, October 9th at 354 Foreman Ave at 3:30am a female victim awoke to find an unknown suspect in her apartment.  After the suspect left, she noticed numerous items missing.  The suspect is described as a white male, aged 20 – 35, six feet tall with a medium build, short brown hair and a thin mustache.  He was wearing all black.
  • Sunday, October 10th on Montmullen St. a male victim awoke to see a flashlight shining in the hallway and found an unknown male suspect in his home.  The suspect fled on foot.  The suspect is described a white male, 18 to 28 years of age, 6’1”, 180 pounds wearing all black and a heavy coat.

Robbery

September 23, 2010

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky issues this Crime Bulletin.

At approximately 1:12 pm, UK Police were notified of a robbery that occurred in F building Cooperstown.    The suspects are described as two Male white’s both 5’5 skinny build.  Both were wearing blue t-shirt’s, black jeans.  One suspect had numerous rings on one finger and the other suspect had a prominent forehead.  No weapon was displayed or implied.   The victim was walking in F building when the two suspects followed her into her apartment and demanded cash.   The suspects left in an unknown direction of travel.  Anyone with information relating to this investigation is asked to contact the University of Kentucky Police at (859) 257-1616.

Attempted Strong Arm Robbery

September 21, 2010

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky issues this Crime Bulletin.

At approximately 9:12 pm, UK Police were notified of an attempted robbery that occurred in the K lot at Commonwealth Stadium.  The attempted robbery occurred in the area of the Blue Lot.  The suspect is described as a Male white 6’2 180-190 lbs Brown shaggy hair with light facial hair.  The suspect was last seen wearing a long sleeve black flannel sweat shirt and dark gray sweat pants. There was a weapon implied but not displayed.   The victim was walking in the K lot when he was approached by the suspect and the suspect attempted to remove personal items of the victim.   The suspect was last seen running south towards Greg Page Apartments. The suspect did sustain injuries to his facial area during the attempted robbery.  Anyone with information relating to this investigation is asked to contact the University of Kentucky Police at (859) 257-1616.

Armed Robbery

September 21, 2010

In the interest of safety, UK Police has issued the following UK Alert.

UK Police and the Lexington Police Department have been notified of two armed robberies that occurred at 2:46 and 2:47 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 447 Pennsylvania Avenue and also at Columbia Avenue and Oldham Court.

It is implied the suspect is responsible for both robberies, and was described to police as a black male, about 5'11," wearing a bandana with a corn row hairstyle. He was said to be wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with shorts and high white socks with black Chuck Taylor shoes.

The suspect was last seen headed in the direction of the William T. Young Library.

UK and Lexington Police are both on the lookout for the suspect on campus and off. Please use extreme caution in the area and contact UK Police at (859) 257-1616 if you have information about this robbery or to report any suspicious activity.

Strong Arm Robbery


September 14, 2010

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky issues this Crime Bulletin.

At approximately 2:46 am, UK Police were notified of a robbery that occurred on the sidewalk outside the entrance to the Mines and Minerals Building located at 504 Rose Street.  A male student was walking south on Rose Street when he was grabbed from behind by an unknown suspect who demanded the victim’s I-pod.  The suspect was wearing baggy clothes with the pants being described as blue jeans.  The suspect was last seen running north on Rose Street.

Strong Arm Robbery


August 8, 2010

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky issues this Crime Bulletin.

At approximately 4:44 am, UK Police were notified of a robbery on the sidewalk outside the entrance to Parking Structure #8 located at 110 Transcript Avenue.  A car pulled up to the sidewalk, the passenger got out of the vehicle and forced the victim to the ground before taking her purse.  The suspect was wearing a black hat, black shirt and black pants.  The vehicle was described as a green Camaro with a white top and was last seen going west on Transcript Avenue.

Armed Robbery

June 23, 2010
In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, the University of Kentucky Police Department received a report of an armed robbery of an individual in the Press Avenue parking lot. The two suspects brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s personal items.
The suspects were last seen fleeing north toward Winnie Street.
The suspects are described as:
Suspect # 1 – Black/Male with braided hair wearing black T-Shirt and shorts. He is described as being between 15 and 17 years of age. He was armed with a knife.
Suspect # 2 –Black/Male with short hair wearing a Black T-shirt and shorts. He is described as being between 15 and 17 years of age.

Crime Bulletin

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky issues this Crime Bulletin.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17, UKPD received a report of a robbery in the area of Greg Page Apartment Complex and the Arboretum.  The two suspects are described as two black males.  One suspect was approximately 6'0" tall with possible facial hair, wearing a dark blue dirty jacket and wearing a black ski mask.  The other suspect was approximately 5'5".

The two suspects were last seen in the large grass area between Greg Page Complex and the Arboretum with no known direction of travel.

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin.
At approximately 10:23 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2010, the University of Kentucky Police Department received a report of an armed robbery of two individuals in the area of Oldham Court and Cooperstown Drive. The three suspects brandished pistols and demanded the victims’ money and other personal items.
The suspects were last seen fleeing north toward Euclid Avenue.
The suspects are described as:
Suspect # 1 – Black/Male wearing black hoody and black shorts. He is described as 5’8-5’10 in height and in his early 20’s. He was armed with a small handgun.
Suspect # 2 – Light skin black/Male with a goatee and dreadlocks wearing a white t-shirt and denim shorts. He is described as 5’8-5’10 in height and in his early 20’s. He was armed with a small revolver style handgun.
Suspect # 3 – Black/Male wearing all black and possibly spoke in a Caribbean accent. He is described as 6’3” in height and did not appear to have a weapon.

Attempted Robbery

March 9, 2010

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin.
At approximately 1:10 a.m.. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the University of Kentucky Police Department received a report of an attempted strong arm robbery of an individual in the area of Funkhouser Drive. The suspect approached the victim and attempted to grab her purse and book bag as she entered her vehicle. The victim fought back and them suspect fled without taking anything.
The suspect was last seen fleeing south towards Washington Avenue..
The unknown suspect is described as wearing dark clothing. No other description was available from the victim.
