CRIMINAL MISCHIEF / ATTEMPTED ARSON
November 7, 2012
In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the UK community.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that two additional fire incidents had recently occurred in Kirwan 1 Residence Hall. On October 27, 2012, it was noticed that a portion of poster board located in the basement of Kirwan 1 Residence Hall had been burned. On November 1, 2012, burned paper towels were discovered near the trash can in the 2nd floor bathroom of Kirwan 1 Residence Hall.
Each of these incidents is independent of one another, and each fire appeared to have been extinguished prior to its discovery. No injuries have been reported as a result of these incidents.

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY
September 29, 2012
In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the UK community.
The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, medium build, approximately 5’9” tall, 180lbs., clean shaven, with short, wavy hair, wearing a blue UK basketball jersey with no shirt underneath, black athletic shorts, and blue and grey retro basketball shoes.

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the UK community.
The UK Police Department has been informed that the following crime, which was reported occurring near the UK campus, is being investigated by the Lexington Division of Police:
At approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, an assault occurred near 665 South Limestone (across South Limestone from the Washington Avenue intersection). The female victim was approached by one male black suspect, and possibly another suspect with an unknown description, and assaulted causing minor injuries. No weapon was seen or implied during the course of the crime.

• Turn over any requested items (purse, wallet, etc.).
• If you choose to drink, be responsible. Alcohol is never an excuse to hurt another person.
• Make statements with authority – “BACK-OFF! STOP! NO-WAY!” You deserve to be respected.
