SEXUAL ASSAULT
November 9, 2016

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the UK community.
On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, a Campus Security Authority report was received of sexual assaults that occurred Monday evening in a campus residence hall. It was reported that two female students were victims of sexual assault in a residence hall room by a male student known to them.

HARASSMENT
October 6, 2016

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the UK community.

On Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, UK Police Department received a report of harassment motivated by racial bias that occurred Thursday evening on a campus street.  It was reported that a student was a victim of harassment by two unknown white males. The incident is being investigated by UK Police Department.

At approximately 10:26 PM a female student reported that she was walking west on Huguelet Avenue between Rose Street and S. Limestone Street when a silver four-door vehicle, occupied by two white males, drove by and threw water on the student and made a derogatory racial slur as the vehicle passed by.

After further investigation, UKPD has identified the vehicle as the same vehicle that earlier in the evening may have thrown water on other UK students around the area of 90.

STRONG ARMED ROBBERY
August 18, 2016

In the interest of safety, University of Kentucky Police Department has issued a Crime Bulletin for the UK community.

  • At approximately 2:20 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016, a strong arm robbery was reported to have occurred in Patterson Office Tower, 120 Patterson Dr.  The female victim entered her office when an unidentified suspect who was standing behind her desk fled the area with an unspecified amount of money. The suspect was described as a black male, in his late 20’s to early 30’s, approximately 6’, thin build, with short hair, and wearing a dark long sleeve dress shirt, and dark colored dress pants.  He was also carrying an umbrella, and dark colored bag. The victim was a UK employee.

BURGLARY
August 15, 2016

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the UK community.
The University of Kentucky Police Department received a report of a burglary that occurred between 5:30 p.m. August 12, and 1:30 p.m. August 13, 2016, when several unoccupied offices in the College of Nursing were forcibly entered and textbooks were taken.

ARSON
August 12, 2016

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the University of Kentucky Campus.
It was reported to UK Police that a fire had occurred on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at approximately 11:50 p.m. on the 1st floor of 665 South Limestone, an unknown person(s) gained entry to the building and set a fire on the first floor.  The building is vacant and moderate damage occurred.  No injuries have been reported.

The University of Kentucky values a safe community for all students, staff, faculty, and visitors. In the interest of promoting a safe and secure campus environment, UK Police offer the following safety precautions:

  • If you see something, say something. For emergencies, call 911.
  • Carry a cell phone to be able to call for help in emergencies.
  • In the event that you smell smoke, dial 911 immediately. 
  • If you locate a fire, pull a fire alarm and then dial 911. Do NOT attempt to extinguish a fire unless you are properly trained to do so.
  • Anytime a fire alarm is activated, EVACUATE the building immediately.
  • Know the primary and secondary escape routes for each of your locations, should an actual fire occur.

BURGLARY
July 12, 2016

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the UK community.
The University of Kentucky Police Department received the following reports:

  • On June 3, 2016 an unoccupied office in Kastle Hall was forcibly entered and text books were taken.
  • On June 8, 2016 an unoccupied office in Kastle Hall was forcibly entered and text books were taken.
  • On July 11, 2016 an unoccupied office in Grehan Journalism building was forcibly entered and text books were taken.

ARSON
05-21-2016

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the University of Kentucky Campus.
It was reported to UK Police that a fire had occurred on Saturday, May 21st, 2016 at approximately 11:48 p.m. on the 2nd floor of Reynolds Ware House #1.  Unknown person(s) gained entry to the building and set fire to furniture.  No other damage to the building occurred.  No injuries have been reported because of this occurrence.

MOTOR SCOOTER THEFT
May 17, 2016

In the interest of safety, the University of Kentucky Police Department has issued the following Crime Bulletin for the University of Kentucky Campus.

The University of Kentucky Police Department received reports of stolen motor scooters on the following dates from the following locations:  

  • Two from outside of 447 Pennsylvania Court on Thursday, April 21, 2016.
  • Two from outside of 429 Columbia Ave between Friday, April 22 and Sunday, April 24, 2016.
  • One outside of Champions Court II, 326 S. MLK around 2:44 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
  • One outside of Memorial Coliseum around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.
  • One outside of W.T. Young Library, 401 Hilltop Ave. around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016 (recovered by UKPD).
  • One outside of Woodland Glen I, 720 Woodland Ave. at 6:33 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2016.
  • One in Parking Structure 8-UK Medical Center Parking Garage on Monday, May 16, 2016.   

Suspect descriptions have varied across the incidents.

  • Mopeds and scooters on campus are required to have a motor scooter/motorcycle permit. Permits may be obtained at http://www.uky.edu/pts/.

STRONG ARMED ROBBERY
April 26, 2016

In the interest of safety, University of Kentucky Police Department has issued a Crime Bulletin for the UK community.

  • At approximately 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016, a strong arm robbery was reported to have occurred in the area of Good Samaritan Hospital at South Limestone and Maxwell.  The female victim was smoking, when the unidentified suspect approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground and took her cell phone. The suspect fled the scene and was described as a black male, approximately 50 years old, 5’7”,thin build, with short hair and wearing a blue shirt.  The victim was not a student.
