The Ph.D. student must complete and defend a dissertation in one of the areas of seed biology that makes a scholarly contribution to our knowledge of the field.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for all entering graduate students and students should have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average as an undergraduate. Students with English as a second language are required to have a minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
