Provost’s Outstanding Teachers Awards -Call for Nominations 2010-
Each year, we recognize faculty and graduate students for outstanding teaching. We strongly encourage you to nominate deserving faculty members and graduate teaching assistants for outstanding teaching awards. The award is intended to identify and recognize faculty and graduate teaching assistants who demonstrate special dedication to and demonstrable success in their teaching; and to encourage awareness of the importance of excellence in teaching.
A selection committee will review the nominees, collect additional information and recommend approximately nine winners to the Provost. This year the committee will recommend recipients for each of three types of awards:
-
Tenured Faculty ($5,000)
-
Non-tenured Faculty ($3,500)
-
Lecturer ($2,000)
-
Graduate Teaching Assistants ($1,000)
In late April, the recipients will be honored at a formal ceremony and receive their awards.
Deadline for submitting the initial nomination letter to the faculty member’s department chair is 4 pm Friday, January 15, 2010 .
For more information, contact Ms. Rita Wilkie, Institutional Staff Officer, Office of the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, 859- 323-6589, rwilkie@email.uky.edu.
