American-Scandinavian Foundation Fellowships/Grants
The ASF offers fellowships and grants to individuals to pursue research or study in one or more Scandinavian countries for up to one year. Applicants must have a research project that must be completed in a Scandinavian country, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and complete their undergraduate education by the start of the project. Students in all fields are encouraged to apply.

Boren Graduate Fellowship
Boren Fellowships allow U.S. graduate students to study languages abroad in Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Students must be a U.S. Citizen, enrolled in or planning to enroll in a graduate program in the United States, and planning an overseas trip while enrolled in graduate school. A condition of this award is the NSEP service requirement.

Center for Arabic Study Abroad
CASA offers advanced training in Arabic language and culture at the American University in Cairo for one year, beginning in the summer and extending to the spring semester. Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program
The Youth Exchange Program for Young Professionals is a year-long, work-study fellowship program in Germany for business, technical, vocational, and agricultural fields. Students must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident in order to apply.

Critical Language Scholarship Program

Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman ASIA)*
Freeman ASIA supports undergraduates with demonstrated financial need who are planning to study in East or Southeast Asia for a minimum of 8 weeks. *Students apply directly for this award but must have a letter of support from a Study Abroad Adviser AND Financial Aid Adviser.

The Lexington Sister Cities Commission offers students from Lexington to gain professional experience through an internship in France. Humanity in Action Fellowship

Overseas Press Club Foundation Scholarships
The Overseas Press Club Foundation sponsors a scholarship for students interested in becoming foreign correspondents. The scholarship pays for travel and living expenses and provides an internship at foreign bureaus. Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi funds 50 study abroad grants valued at $1,000 each to help support undergraduates who are studying abroad. Students do not have to be a member of Phi Kappa Phi, but must attend an institution with an active chapter to apply. UK does have a chapter. Prior to applying for a grant, students must have applied and/or been accepted into a study abroad program. Applicants must begin a study abroad program between May 1 of the application year and June 30 of the following year.

Qatar Scholarship
The Qatar Scholarship Program offers the opportunity for dedicated Arabic language students to master their skills in an intensive Arabic program at Qatar University for an entire academic year. The Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program
The program offers twenty Americans the opportunity to complete a high-level professional development program in Germany during nine-months.
