CHELLGREN ACADEMY OF TEACHING EXCELLENCE
The Chellgren Academy of Teaching Excellence is a selective honorary organization to be established in 2011. The purpose of this organization is to honor UK faculty who have expressed sustained teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. Membership will be awarded to faculty who have made exceptional contributions to undergraduate education over a sustained period. In addition to celebrating the individual accomplishments of its members, the organization symbolizes the University's commitment to extraordinary teaching. As such, the membership serves as a guiding institutional voice for matters pertinent to improving and expanding teaching excellence. Annual inductees will be selected by criteria established by the founding members, who include active UK faculty recipients of the Provost Award for Outstanding Teaching and the Alumni Outstanding Teacher Awards earned for teaching accomplishments in undergraduate education. The Academy's first organizational meeting will occur in fall 2011.
