Official University of Kentucky LogoAdopted in 1987 and updated in 1995, the University of Kentucky Logo incorporates the steeple of Memorial Hall between the “U” and the “K.” The University will continue to use the 1995 version of the Logo. The font selected for this current Logo is distinguished from the 1987 version by the round base of the “U” and an extended steeple that slightly bisects the letters. Please ensure that you are using the updated Logo on your materials. The UK Logo is a registered trademark and may not be altered. To ensure that all uses of the official Logo will be consistent in quality, do not attempt to recreate or manipulate it in any way. The UK Wordmark consists of the words “ University of Kentucky” printed in all capital letters in the Garamond typestyle. The UK Logo and the Wordmark are available by contacting Public Relations. See the “Usage Guidelines” and “Resources” sections of this guide for additional information. Official UK Institutional SignatureThere are three configurations of the University of Kentucky’s official Institutional Signature, each combining the Logo with the UK Wordmark. They were created for use on internal and external communications pieces. To accommodate different design possibilities, several approved configurations of the Institutional Signature are available. Choose the version that best suits the style of your communications piece. (See the accompanying illustrations.) The Institutional Signature is a registered trademark and may not be altered. To ensure that all uses of the Institutional Signature will be consistent in quality, do not attempt to recreate or manipulate the marks in anyway. Each is to be treated as a single design unit. Do not create your own Institutional Signature. The official Institutional Signature is available through Public Relations. See the “Usage Guidelines” and “Resources” section of this guide for more information.-- The Graphic Standards Manual is also available in PDF format, requiring the use of the free Adobe Reader. |
