ENROLLMENT
-
Enroll at any time during the calendar year. Enrollment is for one year.

Select a course that will count toward your high school graduation. (The
University of Kentucky does not issue a high school diploma)
-
Secure the written consent of either the principal or counselor at your high
school.
-
Middle School and High School Tuition is $70.00 for each 1/2 unit; $140.00 for
each full unit.

Advanced Placement Courses Tuition is $90.00 for each 1/2 unit; $180.00 for
each full unit.

Mail or bring the registration form with the proper tuition payment to the
Independent Study Program Office, Room 1, Frazee Hall, University of Kentucky,
Lexington, Kentucky 40506-0031.

Students can complete a course in a minimum of nine weeks per half unit or take
as long as a full year.
-
Enrollments may be extended for three months by payment of a $20.00 extension
fee. Only one extension per course is permitted.

TEXTBOOKS
Textbooks, if not available in your area, will be sent by the
University of Kentucky Book Store or Kennedy's Bookstore upon
written request. Price quotations are also available at

EXAM INFORMATION
Students can take their exams in the office
-
Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
-
After all assignments and incomplete assignments have been submitted.

With a picture I.D.

MIDDLE SCHOOL EXAM INFORMATION
You may take the exam at your Middle School under the direct supervision of
your principal or counselor. In addition, you may take the exam in our office
with a Picture I.D. between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

REFUNDS
Refund of fees for an independent study course, if requested, will be made in
compliance with the following terms,
First Month: 75%
Second Month: 50%
Third Month: 25%
After Third Month: No Refund
The $5.00 service charge is non-refundable. The refund entitlement will be
reduced by $2.00 for each lesson submitted and evaluated for the course. Your
enrollment number is required on your refund request.
