Distance Learning Technology Center

The UK Distance Learning Technology Center (DLTC), which includes the offices of Distance Learning Programs, Distance Learning Networks, Distance Learning Library Services and Media Design and Production, provides the infrastructure and the support services to develop and deliver distance learning credit courses and programs throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky and around the world. In cooperation with academic departments and colleges, The Graduate School and statewide community colleges, the DLTC enhances educational opportunities through a variety of advanced technologies including interactive video, satellite delivery, World Wide Web instruction, videotape delivery, and television courses offered on KET and UKTV Channel 16, Insight of Lexington. Our mission is to ensure that quality teaching, academic and technological support services are available to University of Kentucky distance learners and faculty.

Kentucky Virtual University

The University of Kentucky is pleased to participate in the Kentucky Virtual University (KyVU), which began offering courses in fall 1999. UK offers both undergraduate and graduate courses through the KyVU, while Lexington Community College offers courses at the lower division/undergraduate level. Students interested in learning about KyVU can visit the Web site at: http://www.kyvu.org.

In addition to the KyVU, the University of Kentucky also participates in the Southern Regional Education Board's Electronic Campus, which provides access to college programs and courses from across the South.
