You Are Responsible for Your Transactions

You are solely responsible for any transactions made through myUK. All transactions have an electronic signature. Report any suspected tampering immediately to the Student Records Office, 10 Funkhouser Building. To help protect against electronic forgeries, it is a good idea to review your schedule each time you use myUK.

Using myUK to access information of anyone other than yourself is considered falsification of academic records and is a serious offense. Any student caught doing so will face disciplinary action; the minimum penalty for such an offense is suspension for one semester.

How to Remove Stop Codes

Do you have a Stop Code that is preventing you from registering? myUK will not let you register or add if:

  • You have a STOP, which is a hold placed against your record for a financial or other outstanding obligation. The "Check Your Status" function can list up to three STOPs, along with the appropriate department and phone number. You may also go to myUK and check for STOPs.

You must clear all STOPs before myUK will allow you to register, add classes, change sections, or change grade options. You may drop classes or cancel your registration with a STOP.

  • You have an Advisor Hold. Most undergraduate students and some graduate students have an Advisor Hold placed against their record. This ensures that students consult with their adviser before they register. Only your official adviser or department can remove an Advisor Hold.
  • Advisor Contact List

How to Cancel/Withdraw

You may cancel your registration before the first day of class by using myUK. Follow the instructions in the Spring Schedule of Classes.

Withdrawing from Courses

During the withdrawal period, as designated in the official University calendar, students receive a W grade for dropped courses. Follow the same procedure on myUK for dropping a course.

NOTE: To withdraw from all your courses (withdraw from UK) on or after the first day of class, contact the Student Records Office, 10 Funkhouser, (859) 257-3161. More detailed information about how to withdraw:

  1. In Person
  2. By Fax
  3. By Mail

can be found on our new Withdrawal From the University web site.

How to Enroll in a Restricted Course

A restricted course limits enrollment to students in a particular college, major, student classification, or program. myUK will not enroll you in a course that is restricted unless you meet the restrictions.

If you do not meet the restrictions but still wish to enroll in a restricted course, you must get special permission from the college or department offering the course. Permission to enter a restricted course is issued electronically. Please note that an electronic Class Permit does not constitute registration in a course. After the permit is issued, you must register for the course using myUK.

Courses With Common-Hour Exams

Some departments give all (or multiple) sections of a course the same exam(s) at the same time. If you receive a message that you are enrolled in a section that has a common-hour exam, see the Spring Schedule of Classes and note the dates and times of the common-hour exam.

Please note the statement of student responsibility concerning common-hour exams and class time conflicts in the Spring Schedule of Classes.

When the next page appears, look for this: Where: EXAM then click on the word EXAM to see the Common-Hour Exam schedule.

Time Conflicts

If you receive permission to register in two courses that have overlapping meeting patterns, you must go to Room 100 Funkhouser Building during your registration or add/drop window. You cannot register for overlapping classes using myUK. (Students enrolled in the Gatton College of Business and Economics must report to 125 B&E Building to resolve time conflicts, regardless of the course.)

Registering for Part-of-Term Courses

Some courses at UK do not start at the beginning of the semester; however, you still must register for them by the last official day to add a class (January 15).

Cancelled Courses

If a course in which you are enrolled is cancelled, you will be notified by letter from the Registrar's Office up to six days before the semester begins. After this date, departments cancelling courses are instructed to post the cancellation on the classroom door. It's a good idea to review your schedule using myUK shortly before classes begin to check for course cancellations or changes.

Your Printed Schedule

You may print a copy of your schedule through myUK or by presenting a photo ID in the Registrar's Office. You may also review your schedule or list your courses using myUK.

Check your schedule carefully for accuracy. If you have chosen a pass/fail or audit grade option, make sure the letters PF or AU appear under the GTYP column on the printed schedule.

Though your printed schedule may reflect tuition and fees charges based on the schedule you received, it is not an official bill. Your official bill comes from Student Billing Services.

Fees are due in full by the published deadline even if you do not receive a bill.
