UK-SBRP in Communities

The Community Outreach Core (COC), under the direction of Dr. Lisa Gaetke, works closely to inform and assist communities dealing with the negative health impacts of Superfund chemicals. The COC's Superfund Community Action through Nutrition (SCAN) endeavor has put together a number of programs, ranging from basic educational materials to train-the-trainer sessions.

A COC Superfund Booklet provides an entry point for individuals to begin learning about the complex relationships between chemicals and health.

Hand-out materials (PDF Files) include:

Fruit and Vegetable Tips
What's on Your Plate

A more extensive overview of the potential positive impacts of certain spices also is available:

Spice Up Your Immune System

For more information on COC programs, or to schedule a UK-SBRP Community Outreach representative to speak at your event, contact Lisa Gaetke at 859-257-1031.
