Dr. Hennig Presents at at the 27th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants - DIOXIN 2007 in Tokyo, Japan

(Sept. 2007) - UK-SRP Program Director Bernhard Hennig attended and presented a poster at the 27th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants - DIOXIN 2007, which was held in Tokyo, Japan from September 2-7, 2007. The title of Hennig's presentation was Role of Caveolae in PCB-Induced Vascular Endothelial Cell Activation.

The theme for DIOXIN 2007 was Expanding the Science and Technology of Halogenated POPs to General POPs for the Sustainable Development. This year's conference continued the tradition of the symposium series as an interdisciplinary forum for communicating scientific advances and emerging issues. DIOXIN 2007 focused on the science of dioxins and additional persistent organic pollutants following major advances in analytical determination, the understanding of emission, transport, fate, degradation, toxic behavior along with the growing attention in developing countries and global pollution issues.
