UK-SRP Student Xu Receives North American Membrane Society Award

(May 2007) -- Jian Xu, a University of Kentucky Ph.D. candidate and researcher with UK's Superfund Research Program, received an award at the 2007 North American Membrane Society Annual Meeting for his poster presentation. Ten students were selected from among 75 student poster presenters to receive awards for outstanding research work.

Jian Xu's presentation was entitled "Catalytic Dechlorination of Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) in water by Fe/Pd Nanoparticles in Polyacrylic Acid Functionalized Membranes." In addition, he gave an oral presentation during the meeting. Over 400 people from the U.S. and around the world attended this conference.
